About the Photographer
As a Nursing Student at Elmira College I have never found the time to do artistic activities, nor did I think that I had the resilience to learn a new skill. This changed during the fall semester of my Junior year. I found great joy in learning how to use a film camera during my photography class. I learned through the class that no matter how many times you look through the lens of a camera at a subject you can find different meanings from the angle, lighting, and environmental factors. My favorite subject with film photography was getting close to my subject. This was due to the idea each day as we walk or drive to and from class/work we only look at the larger picture; very rarely do we take the time to investigate the details. My photos became fascinating as the texture and meaning changed with the close proximity to the subject.
